247 - Interface for ordering drug
a hospital
Overview & Purpose
In the course of an academic project, my team was given a problem statement to design
a drug management system that the hospital can use for ordering, tracking, and managing
different kinds of medicines. Administrators should have access to an admin panel with a
contemporary design that allows them to track drugs and purchase orders.

Challenges
Doctors: The application will allow doctors to request drugs that are in short supply at the hospital.
Their age would be above 25 years. Designed to be easily learnable and useable, the interface would be easy to learn and use.
Doctors must quickly find the medicine they wish to order and determine whether it has been delivered.
Administrative Users: Administrators are unfamiliar with the complex management interface.
A good interface must guide, be consistent, and handle errors well.
These users will be of age 40 and above.
Process Overview
We conducted research where participants were doctors, nurses and adminitrative users from three local hospitals
85% of Doctors suggested that efficiency in an application will help them ordering new drugs.
Almost 95% of Doctors and nurses said they prefer “stock availability in brief” on the application.
100% of Doctors and nurses wished the system should be in Intuitive.
Adminitrative users desired to have details of purchase made feature.
All the participants said they require a “Easy to add” and “Easy to track” order feature.
